Orchids set to swarm Oyster Bay

Oyster Bay residents and those who live in the surrounding area will soon be treated to an eye-catching orchid display.

The Long Island Orchid Festival of 2014 will be held at the Planting Fields Arboretum and will feature many orchid vendors and lecturers speaking about the beautiful flower. The vendors will include salesmen from around the world, including Little Brook Orchids, Mt. Prospect Orchids, and Woodstream Orchids.

While there will be several lecturers and presenters, one of the most notable is Nancy Wernersbach. She is an artist, and she will be giving a demo on painting orchids on the Saturday of the Festival. Attendees are welcome to enter into a raffle for the painting that she will finish on the day.

Promoters for this event might turn to printing companies to create advertising material for them. Flyers and Posters are a cost-effective way to reach out to people. Handing them out or hanging them in nearby towns like Port Washington is a sure way to bring more people to the festival.

The Festival begins on Friday, May 2, and runs until Sunday, May 4. It starts at 9:00 am each day and runs until 5:00 pm. There is no admission fee for attending the festival, but there is an $8 parking fee for those who are driving to the arboretum.
