Kids learn to draw in Roslyn Harbor

The Nassau County Museum of Art in Roslyn Harbor, New York has started hosting a special series for young children that will run through August.

‘Hear It! See It! Draw It!’ will allow children to hear stories told by the organizers, see different works of art on display in the museum, and then draw pieces based on what they have seen and heard that day.

The museum is built on what was formerly the Frick Estate. The building itself, a 19th Century mansion, is able to display a wide range of artwork for residents of Long Island to see. The grounds also include the Pinetum, which is a restored trellis area full of special, rare trees. Guests are welcome to explore it, the nearby Sculpture Garden, and the walking trails that populate the property.

Promoters may seek out local Print companies to help with advertising materials like Flyers and Posters that could create more interest in the program in Port Washington and other nearby towns.

The series will be held on the next two Fridays, August 8 and August 15, from 10:00am to 11:00am on each day. The program is open to children between the ages of three and five, and it is free to attend. However, it is limited to 20 children per session, so parents should reserve a spot as soon as possible.
