As it has for the past 10 years, the Community Chest of Port Washington is holding its Port Washington-Manhasset Bay Kayak Run.
This year, Port Washington is sharing hosting duties for the annual Kayak Run’s with the Town of North Hempstead. Participants start at Manorhaven Beach Park, and conclude the five-mile course at the Town Dock.
The use of a banner printing service can increase participation, as well as cut down on confusion if utilized at the both ends of an event such as this one.
Those wishing to do so can rent a kayak for the event from this year’s sponsor, Atlanta Outfitters. However, despite its name, the Kayak Run is by no means limited to kayaks. Participants are welcome to use canoes or even paddle boards to run the course.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Community Chest of Port Washington, which also serves North Hempstead. Entry fees paid prior to the day of the event are $25 for those 20 years old and above and $5 for those under 20 years old. Fees paid on the day of the event will be $45 and $25 respectively.
Paddlers will take off at 10:00 am this Saturday, July 18. A raffle drawing will take place at 12:30 pm, for which the top prize is a new kayak.
