Port Holiday Magic 2015 on December 3 provided an opportunity for Port Washington residents to see the hamlet’s illuminated snowflake decorations and become infused with the holiday spirit.
The bright LED snowflakes were recently installed through the combined efforts of Home Run Electric and The Greater Port Washington Business Improvement District (BID). The installation of these lights has been a multi-year effort on the part of the Port Washington BID and the Town of North Hempstead.
Port Holiday Magic is a festive night promoting local shopping. This year outdoor entertainment included Ninja Turtle Rafaello, Olaf and a Minion in addition to strolling and stage performers. Residents were able to traverse the downtown area by hopping the trolley and balloon twisters, popcorn, and cotton candy were available at several Main Street locations.
Over 60 businesses made a special effort to reward those who came out to celebrate Port Holiday Magic 2015 with promotions, free gifts and special discounts. Flyer printing services were no doubt called upon by many, if not all, of the local merchants to ensure the public was widely aware of their special offers.
Mariann Dalimonte, BID Executive Director expressed appreciation for the assistance of Home Run Electric, Councilwoman Giorgio, Supervisor Bosworth and Tom Tiernan, Superintendent of Highways in the BID efforts to beautify Port Washington for the holiday season.
