Port Washington fans of the Awaken Fair, which usually occurs in the nearby town of Tarrytown, should note that it is moving online this year due to the pandemic.
The Awaken Fair is an annual holistic expo focusing on the health and wellness of the mind, body, and spirit. In years past, it has taken place in a hotel event space bursting with vendors, speakers, and exhibit booths for attendees to enjoy. Paula Caracappa, founder and CEO, hopes that by moving the popular fair online, it will become safe and accessible to people across the country.
The expo’s virtual features will include Zoom and phone calls with spiritual specialists, such as healers and readers, as well as scheduled talks with experts in holistic wellness and personal development. These scheduled talks will run for 30 minutes, beginning every hour and half hour. Attendees may even virtually sample holistic healing practices, such as Reiki, via Zoom or phone. Online vendors offering natural, handmade products will also be on hand.
The fair goes live on Saturday, November 21 through Sunday, November 22 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm each day. Admission is free, with registration available on Eventbrite.com. For more information, guests can visit Awakenfair.com. Even virtual events often need flyer printing to spread the word of event location changes.
