A New Jersey-based hat distributor is relocating its headquarters to Port Washington.
On November 10, it was announced by local officials that Kim and Bae Trading Corp, a headwear company that operates facilities in New Jersey and Manhattan, will be moving its headquarters to Port Washington. The company is expected to bring with it 20 new jobs for area residents and a boost for the local economy.
Nassau County’s has entered into an economic development compact with the importer and distributor of headgear that will assist in the acquisition and renovation of a building situated at 45 Seaview Boulevard. The 33,000-square-foot industrial building is anticipated to provide enough room for the company’s operations while still leaving a small portion available for lease to another company.
The introduction of K&B imports to Port Washington’s economy will have many and varied benefits for the community. In addition to the 20 positions the company will need to fill at its new headquarters, there are also the construction jobs created for the duration of the properties six-month renovation. These construction jobs, the equivalent of 10 full-time jobs, will garner a tax benefit of $195,736.
Additionally, other small businesses will benefit from supplying the newest addition to the local business community.
