Charity walk to Take Steps for Crohns disease

In October, The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation will hold the Golden Coast Take Steps Walk in Port Washington to support those affected by Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation is a not-for-profit organization with the mission of finding a cure for the two diseases, and to improve the lives of those affected by them. The organization has raised and invested over $384m in research, and October’s Golden Coast event will be its largest fundraising event of the year.

Golden Coast Take Steps Walk will bring together the IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) community in Port Washington and throughout the Long Island area. Attendees are welcomed to register as a team or as an individual. Organizers also encourage participants to raise $100 before the day of the walk.

The event will not only feature the walk itself, but it will also highlight patient stories and supporter recognition. Those with IBD and their loved ones will be able to connect to others going through similar situations and enjoy a day of fellowship, support, and entertainment.

The Golden Coast Take Steps Walk is scheduled for October 24 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. It will take place at North Hempstead Beach Park on 175 West Shore Road.
