An upcoming Mamaroneck show will be looking to conjure a “Summer Fling” in the midst of January, with the goal of benefiting education programs.
The event, called “Summer Fling for Summer Matters”, is headlined by New York-based rock group Summer Fling. Opening up the show will be another band with local roots, female-fronted folk rock quartet The Wild Life. Both groups will be playing original songs with the goal of presenting a fast-paced, rocking experience in the depths of winter.
Proceeds from ticket sales will go towards the “Summer Matters” program presented by the STEM Alliance. The organization’s goal is to help local children make the most out of the summers with camps focusing on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
The concert is one of the early parts of the STEM Alliance’s goal to raise $1.5 million in the year of 2026. The organization runs Co-Op Summer Enrichment camps in association with local Mamaroneck schools and others in Westchester County.
The concert will also offer VIP tickets, which include a meet and greet with the bands, merchandise and complementary wine. Charity concerts and other events often use methods like poster printing and special presentations to outline the benefits of the relevant cause.
“Summer Fling for Summer Matters” will take place on the evening of January 21 at the Emelin Theatre in Mamaroneck.
