The show will feature the acclaimed performances of Frisson’s seven musicians, led by oboist Thomas Gallant. The ensemble has become known for featuring a combination of rising talent and veteran classical music from throughout the New York area, with several members part of Carnegie Hall’s Ensemble Connect and other major orchestras.
The Mamaroneck show will be part of a busy holiday season for Frisson, including concerts throughout New York and New Jersey, as well as further afield. Promotional material describes the group as:
“the classical group that does it all,’ delivering engaging programs that span a variety of ensemble configurations, including winds, piano trios, piano quartets, octets, and nonets.”
The group will be playing a special holiday program that features carols like “O Come All Ye Faithful” and “Carol of the Bells”, as well as classical pieces appropriate for the season, such as Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite and Vivaldi’s Gloria. The show will also feature a Christmas Jazz Suite and traditional carols. Classical concerts are a popular attraction around the holiday season, often using programs and brochure printing to help entice visitors to return for future concerts in the new year.
Frisson will perform in Mamaroneck on Sunday, December 1 at the Emelin Theatre.
