A new facility of the Premier Packaging Corporation (PPC) is now opened in Henrietta in the Wiregrass Business Park.
PPS is based in Henrietta and provides custom designed paper packaging products to a variety of industries, including medical device companies, the food industry, beverages, and consumer products. This type of packaging is an ideal way for companies to display their Logo Design and promote their brand to the public.
The facility spans 105,000 square feet and is expected to retain 52 jobs and create an additional 37.
Hope Knight, President, CEO, and Commissioner of DSS, which is a large multinational company that makes packaging solutions and purchased PPC in 2010, said the new facility of Premier Packaging reinforces the commitment of the company to the region of the Finger Lakes – a region that offers a comprehensive solution to high-quality businesses looking for skilled talent. Knight added that the targeted support of New York State towards forward-thinking projects such as this will help to create the best jobs not only in the county, but across the state as well, while helping to strengthen the economy.
A degree in packaging solutions is offered by the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) located in Henrietta. RIT is one of fewer than 10 schools in the United States to offer such a degree.
