Irish pub reopens in Henrietta

The Shamrock Inn, which was previously the MacGregor’s Grill & Tap Room, is now open in Henrietta on Jefferson Road.

The co-owners of the new inn are Landon Brice of Rush and Matthew Collins of Henrietta. The interior has kept many features intact with its black-and-white checkered floor tiles, hunter green walls, artwork, and newly cleaned chairs and tables.

New features include the bar top, created by Karl Vilcins, a woodworker whose full-time job is as a bassoonist for the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition, a new draft beer line has been installed. Collins said that the number of taps has been reduced from 130 to 78. The beer towers on the bars have also been removed replacing them with display shelves of liquor bottles to place less emphasis on beer.

The food menu will be like what was previously served at MacGregor’s, as Collins said it was always popular. There is a game area to the right of the bar and it has two new pool tables, two new electronic dartboards, and a new Golden Tee Machine.

The back patio has speakers as well as a fire pit and stage as the two new owners want to showcase live music. The goal is to offer live music every Friday and Saturday.

Such updated venues can benefit from flyer printing to highlight existing patron favorites as well as new offerings.
