A building that spans close to 30,000 square feet on Marketplace Drive in Henrietta will become the home of a Ross Dress for Less store.
The building has been vacant since Babies R Us closed its store in 2018. Such sites can benefit from professional poster and banner printing to keep residents informed.
Ross Dress for Less was founded in 1982 and is based in Dublin, California. It sells specialty and department store brands at discounted prices. The store believes in a “no frills” approached, so there are no mannequins, window displays, or fancy decorations or fixtures, meaning the savings on all this can be passed on to customers.
Ross Dress for Less has 1,917 stores in 44 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Guam. There are 14 stores in New York State, including two that recently opened in Riverhead and Lake Grove on Long Island. It expects to open an additional 110 stores this year.
A Ross Dress for Less store will also be coming to Irondequoit. This and the store in Henrietta will bring the company’s total in the Rochester area up to four, with the first two being in Gates and Victor.
As yet, no date has been determined as to when construction will be completed, nor when the store will open.
