The new orthopedics and physical performance surgery center of the University of Rochester Medicine is now open in Henrietta.
Located at the Marketplace Mall, the cost of the center was $227m. It becomes the largest building project in the history of the University of Rochester, and took less than two years to complete.
There are three procedure rooms, eight operating rooms, and an imaging center in the new facility. The imaging center offers X-rays, computed tomography (CT) scans, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The operating rooms have state-of-the-art motion sensing equipment. More details about such facilities and the services provided are often outlined with flyer printing.
Sarah Mangelsdorf, president of the University of Rochester, said that there is a demand for orthopedic surgery in the area. She added that the center reflects the commitment of the university to making the highest-quality medical treatments available to all those in the region. She said that not only has investment been made in state-of-the-art equipment, but also to ensure that the quality of care is top of the range.
This is the first of two phases of the project, and hundreds of construction jobs have been added locally due to them. In addition, there has been an increasing number of visitors and business opportunities for the Marketplace Mall.
The second phase of the project is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
