Beef store open in Henrietta

The Beef & Butter Company is now open in the Town Center Plaza on East Henrietta Street in Henrietta.

Owned and operated by Erin and Dan Reisinger, the business started as The Butter Man, wherein Erin sold specialty butters such a garlic, gorgonzola, and brown sugar cinnamon at the Rochester Public Market. The couple decided to add beef to the business as they were becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the quality of beef sold in stores. With a background in retail and restaurant management, Dan found a few farms in the region with whom they could partner.

The Beef & Butter Company is in a space that was once home to Skip’s Meat Market. The Reisingers updated the space with new counters, paint, and flooring, among other things.

Offerings at the store include an Iowa premium Angus program and a steer program. Also sold are cuts that are hard to find such as the hanger steak and the Picanha cut, which comes from the top of the sirloin. Other offerings include pork and chicken which are packaged with sauces prepared by Louis Reyes, their in-house chef, as well as coleslaw, tuna, Greek, and macaroni salads.

Such new establishments can promote themselves and their products with flyer printing services.

The Reisingers plan to add heat-and-eat prepared meals, sauces, jams, honey, charcuterie boards, coffee, and handmade soaps from local vendors who cannot afford a brick-and-mortar operation.
