Upcoming art show one of several concurrent events

The 16th annual SCOPE New York exhibition is taking place in the city over four days next month.

More than 60 local, national, and international galleries will be showcasing a variety of artworks in all genres in an open-plan exhibition. There are several events planned to take place, including parties and brunches.

The Platinum First View consists of a reception and privately led tours for $150, and it will take place on March 3 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. The VIP preview, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm, costs $100 for a couple and includes the press. For the remainder of the show, public day passes cost $35 for adults or $25 for students.

This exhibition is only one of several in the city to be held during the 22nd annual Armory Show at Piers 92 and 94. This show features works of art from more than 200 galleries; tickets cost $45 for adults and $30 for seniors and students. Another related show is Volta NY.

It is likely that many of those who study graphic design in the city, and in surrounding communities like Forest Hills, will want to attend at least one of these art shows.

SCOPE New York will be held at the Metropolitan West Pavilion from March 3 to 6. To get more information about this show, or the Armory show, call 212-268-1522.
