Forest Hills will soon get its first location of Numero 28 Pizzeria, a popular chain that serves Neapolitan-style pies, prepared in a brick oven using a generations-old recipe.
The new restaurant will be the first location of Numero 28 Pizzeria in Queens.
Numero 28 got its start in Manhattan, and has since expanded to nine locations, including two in Brooklyn and a few in London. As Gianmarco Di Michele, one of the establishment's co-owners, told the Forest Hills Times, it was a family friend who tipped them of about the potential location in Forest Hills. He noted that although there were plenty of eateries in the area, there were not many pizza restaurants.
Chain restaurants can use local printing companies to produce their Menus, especially if their Menus vary slightly for each location.
Numero 28 Pizzeria offers three sizes of pizza pie and more than 30 varieties. The sizes include a personal pizza, which measures 14 inches across, a rectangular pizza measuring about 18 inches, and a 29-inch rectangle, designed to serve four people.
As of yet, the owners of Numero 28 have not set an official opening date, but anticipate opening early in the year. The owners are making a few small changes to the location and are waiting to get a permit for the brick oven.
