An unlikely ally is coming to the aid of Forest Hills favorite Bonelle Pastry Shop.
With a branch of coffee giant Dunkin’ Donuts scheduled to open next door, the Bonelle Pastry Shop is being forced out of its Ascan Avenue storefront here in Forest Hills by its landlord. However, Dunkin’ Donuts is pledging its support for the shop and says it does not want Bonelle to move.
The popular pastry shop has been at the same location for more than 20 years. Though some cookie fans initially blamed Dunkin’ Donuts for Bonelle losing its lease, the franchise owner, Scott Campbell, is adamant in his assertion that he does not want to see Bonelle move.
He denies having a ‘non-compete’ clause in his lease and says the two businesses would have a more complementary than competitive relationship. Campbell met with Bonelle owner Rahita Ravel on November 7 and pledged his support. Meanwhile, fans of the small bakery have set up a petition to have the shop’s lease extended, and have gathered more than 500 signatures so far.
New businesses usually require the services of Stationery printers, and in this case the printing company could render further assistance for both of the stores. Businesses that complement each other can, with a little guidance, combine their advertising to be mutually beneficial.Get a Free Quote for Stationery
