Forest Hills venue hosts Irish afternoon

A Forest Hills venue that provides the community with a variety of opportunities for fun and recreation has an afternoon of Irish-themed merriment on its calendar, and everyone is welcome.

The Poppenhusen Institute will soon be bringing back its Irish Cafe Afternoon, which has proved to be a real crowd pleaser in previous years. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door on the day of the event, and they start at $20 each.

The celebration will put the talents of Patrick Madden and Mary Courtney center stage, as they will be performing a variety of Irish ballads. After this, the audience will be treated to an exhibition of dancing courtesy of the McNiff Irish Step Dancers. Refreshments will be served, and the popular Irish soda bread will be back for another year.

A community gathering like this gives neighbors an opportunity to get to know one other in a fun and festive atmosphere. Companies often order branded Corporate Gifts to donate when asked to sponsor or otherwise support an event.

The Poppenhusen Institute, which is located at 114-04 14th Road in College Point, has made plans to bring out everyone's inner Irish with its cafe afternoon next Sunday, February 23rd, beginning at 3:00 pm. Anyone with questions can reach the organizers by phone at (718) 358-0067.
