Forest Hills locals can attend an online course created by the Queens Public Library in December to learn calligraphy skills.
Calligraphy Workshop For The Holidays is a program that Forms part of the Queens Public Library's “It's Time For Kind” series. During the experience, guests will learn to elevate their thank you notes and Holiday Cards with calligraphy. Those interested in following along with the teacher must bring a special calligraphy pen, smooth watercolor paper, a ruler, and a pencil. Practice guides can be requested in advance.
The instructor for the lesson is Timothy Savage, who is a digital artist and art teacher who works with Great Neck Community Education. His current online courses include Illustration and Animation's Golden Age and Approaching Watercolor. Savage has also taught both adults and kids through the National Art League in Douglaston. He is an active volunteer and is part of the Art League of Nassau County. Professional artists such as Savage can use business card printing to give their information to clients.
The calligraphy lesson will be held on December 3 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Adults are the intended participants for the activity. Registration is not needed, and a link to the program can be found on the library's event page. People can learn more about Savage and see his portfolio by visiting his website.
