Forest Hills to hold Argentinian cooking course

The League of Kitchens will be hosting an Argentinian cooking workshop in Forest Hills at Mirta’s kitchen soon.

Mirta is an Argentinian woman who has lived in the United States since 1975. She has experience in making and distributing sweets to shops throughout New York, and hosts cooking courses that teach students how to make various Argentinian dishes. Those participating in her upcoming course will learn how to make hongos con provolone, humitas, and alfajores. The course will come with a shopping guide, recipe packet, and will include a small meal.

The League of Kitchens is an organization of women from around the world who educate aspiring cooks about their family recipes and cultural heritage. Lisa Gross is the founder, creating the concept from her love of cooking and her connection to immigrant experiences.

Cooking classes held by the women are done in small groups where students get to personally interact with the instructors. Organizers for events like this can use business card printing to provide guests with contact details for networking.

Mirta’s cooking course will be held on August 17th from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm. The cost is $125 per person. Anybody who would like to participate in a course from the League of Kitchens can view upcoming events online. Mirta will be hosting an identical course later in October for those unable to attend this workshop.
