Forest Hills offers Spanish-speaking financial education

Spanish-speaking residents of Forest Hills can attend two workshops offered by the Queens Public Library to learn more about financial topics.

Ready, Set, Bank: Getting Acquainted With Online Banking is a series created by the Enriching Lives through Financial Literacy and Banking Education initiative. The program will consist of three courses educating attendees about the benefits of online banking and how to navigate banking applications. Guests will also learn about why they should take financial security seriously. Libraries offering public lessons like this can use poster printing to advertise the course in their buildings.

The second workshop is Establishing And Maintaining Personal Credit. During the courses, students will learn from an expert who will help them set realistic goals to achieve financial wellbeing. There will be two courses in the program. Other topics covered in the lessons include reviewing credit reports, how to create a personal budget, and setting up an online banking account. The expert will also offer one-on-one consultations to all students.

The first program on online banking will be held on February 2, 9, and 16 from noon to 1:30 pm. The course on establishing and maintaining personal credit will take place on March 2 and 9 from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Both workshops are only offered in Spanish, and each lesson will be held virtually.
