Forest Hills area to offer fall foliage tours

Green-Wood Cemetery is home to more than 8,000 trees, and this Forest Hills area venue will be welcoming a fall foliage tour.

Each autumn, the location comes alive with oranges, reds, yellows, and other colors as the trees prepare for the winter ahead. The Trees of Green-Wood activity will offer the chance to view them up close on two dates over the coming weeks.

Registrants for the tour are advised to wear footwear that is sturdy and comfortable. As the venue is one of only 46 Level III arboretums in the world, at least 800 species and cultivars of trees may be viewed, offering no shortage of photo opportunities. The check-in point will be located at the Gothic Arch, and the activity is not recommended for children under 10 or those who require the use of a mobility device. Tickets are $25 each, excluding any fees or taxes that may be applied.

Those visiting an arboretum, public garden, or another horticulturally significant site may appreciate receiving printed guides that provide details about the plants. A brochure printing company will be happy to prepare leaflets, pamphlets, and other small publications for an event.

These visits to admire the fall foliage at Green-Wood Cemetery will be offered this Sunday, October 20, and again on Sunday, November 10. Passes may be reserved through its event listing.
