College finds new digs

Plaza College completed a move into its new Forest Hills’ campus last month.

The school had been operating from a temporary location since April of this year due to a fire in the building in which it partially occupied in Jackson Heights.

Established in 1916, the school moved in 1970 to Jackson Heights from its original location in Long Island City. Plans for the new campus were put into motion two years ago and it was anticipated that the new campus would open in September of 2014.

Fortunately, after the massive fire that gutted their previous location, Plaza College was able to move the opening of its new campus up to July. Thanks to cooperation from Muss Development LLC, the building’s owner.

A lot of details go into a move such as this, not the least of which a conversation with the school’s Stationery printer. The school’s letterhead, Envelopes, and Business Cards will all need to be replaced with ones containing Plaza’s new address.

Around 750 students are expected to use the new campus, which can be found near Union Turnpike on Queens Boulevard. Within the 17-story Forest Hills Tower housing Plaza College is a patient simulation lab, an assortment of medical classrooms, and a phlebotomy lab.

The four-year school offers an assortment of bachelor and associate degrees in accounting, business administration, medical assisting, and patient information management.
