The taps will be flowing at Singlecut Beersmiths, while pet owners put their artistic talents to work at a Printmaking and Pint Drinking event next month in Clifton Park.
The adult class is presented by Singlecut North and Upstate Arts and Crafts. Businesses that sponsor activities such as this often use poster printing to assist in promoting their events.
The two-hour guided class will provide even the most inexperienced artists with the tools and instruction needed to create a custom stamp depicting their pet. Each pet owner will work on a rubber block that will feature their individual pet portrait, which is prepared ahead of time from an uploaded image.
During the printmaking class, participants will learn carving techniques, how to transfer images to rubber blocks, and how to complete a custom stamp portrait of their dog, cat, or other special family pet, all while enjoying a selection of area craft beers.
The art process, known as relief prints, is one of several different methods of printmaking. It involves carving away the negative space of a design. The remaining positive area has a raised surface that can be inked and transferred onto paper or other material, capturing a unique image of the subject.
Printmaking and Pint Drinking will be held on Sunday, November 24, from noon to 2:00 pm at Singlecut North, 6 Fairchild Square in Clifton Park.
