This January, the Two Towns-One Book (TTOB) program will be hosting a screening of the movie The Wizard of Oz. In addition to showing the iconic film, TTOB will be discussing its plans for the coming year.
The Two Towns-One Book program is a yearly program put together by the Friends of the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library. Bringing the community together through activities related to a singular book, including the reading, discussion, and other activities, is their goal. This year, the program plans to read the book Finding Dorothy, which is by Elizabeth Letts.
The book that tells the story of the original The Wizard of Oz book by Frank Baum and movie, which is why TTOB will be presenting the movie version at the kickoff event. It relates the story through the eyes of the original author’s wife, Maud, intertwining the story of Maud’s relationship with Dorothy actress Judy Garland, and Frank’s inspiration for the book.
The screening of The Wizard of Oz and TTOB discussion event will take place on Sunday, January 9 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. It will be held in Program Room A-D of the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library, which is located at 475 Moe Road.
