Gordon Lightfoot to appear near Clifton Park
Esteemed Canadian singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot is scheduled to perform near Clifton Park in mid-April.
The concert will take place near the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall, which is located about 20 minutes from Clifton Park.
Throughout his more than 60-year career, Lightfoot has garnered international success from his efforts in folk and country music. Many of his albums have reached gold and platinum status, while several of his singles, including ‘Rainy Day People,’ ‘The Wreck of the Ella Fitzgerald,’ and ‘Sundown,’ have topped the US Hot 100 chart.
A multitude of top artists, including Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, and Jerry Lee Lewis have recorded cover versions of these songs and more of Lightfoot’s work.
In addition, his efforts have garnered him many awards and recognitions. He has won a total of 16 Juno Awards, four ASCAP Awards, and a SOCAN Lifetime Achievement Award. He has also been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame, and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
