The area is getting ready to welcome the season with its annual Farm Fest. According to the CliftonPark.com website, this is the 21st year for the event, which celebrates agriculture in the area.
The weekend will be full of family-friendly activities, including apple picking, horse rides, farm tours, and live music.
It gets underway at the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library, when Diane Payette, a local performer, will entertain with her guitar and songs with a farm theme. Families are encouraged to gather and join in with the songs, with hay bales being used as seating.
A complimentary breakfast will be provided, full of traditional fall treats such as cider, apples, cider donuts, and coffee. Children can visit with Tad, the library's mascot, and tour the rescue and emergency vehicles that will be stationed in the parking lot.
The events at the library are designed to pique interest in the weekend's activities, which include touring local orchards and farms, which will be open to the public.
Farm Fest takes place this weekend, September 20 and 21, running from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day. Event organizers could work with a flyer printing company to create a handout to be distributed at the library, listing the events, as well as the farms and orchards that are open, and their addresses.
