As a part of its documentary film series, the Clifton Park Library will be screening a documentary this February. Anyone in the local area who wishes to attend and follows safety procedures will be invited to join.
The movie choice for this event will be “Love, Gilda.” This 2018 American and Canadian piece tells the story of the life and career of comedian Gilda Radner through home movies, audio tapes, and diary entries, as well as interviews with celebrities like Melissa McCartney, Martin Short, and more.
The work premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and had a limited release in theaters. Ratings-wise, it received widespread acclaim from critics.
Radner herself was one of the original seven original cast members of the NBC sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live. She performed as a wide variety of humorous characters, a good portion of which were parodies of popular celebrities of the time. She also won an Emmy for her SNL performances and was ranked as the ninth most important Saturday Night Live cast member in a 2015 Rolling Stones Magazine article.
The film will be screened at the Clifton Park - Halfmoon Library, which is located at 475 Moe Road, from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm on February 3. More information can be found on the library's site, and libraries also often use poster printing to advertise their events.
