A Benson's Cares Bowling Fundraiser in Clifton Park will support area pet shelters and animal rescues. Five dozen bowlers will take to the lanes to raise funds for neglected and unwanted four-legged friends.
Benson's Cares is a non-profit organization that helps with the care of homeless pets during transition to a permanent new home and also strives to reduce the number of neglected animals by partnering with veterinarians on spay and neuter programs. In order to provide free pet food and other supplies to animal rescue organizations, they rely on distributors and retailers to donate not only food but also items such as toys, litter supplies, bowls, collars and beds. Pet store patrons can also contribute through donation bins at many participating stores. The organization's focus is on cats and dogs. However, sometimes help is provided for other needy furry friends.
A range of animal care charities across the state benefit from Benson's Cares. In Clifton Park, one of this year's recipients is Mr. Mo project, an organization that focuses on fostering and seeking permanent love and care for senior dogs.
Bowlers at the fundraising event can also participate in a raffle for a variety of items collected from local businesses. In making these types of donations, companies often include Letterheads and other printed materials with their gifts in order to promote their product.
Teams of bowlers will aim for spares and strikes at the Spare Time bowling alley on October 4, 2024, from 5 to 7 pm.
