What's Happening in Clifton Park, NY…

Classics meet modern at Clifton Park auto show

Residents of Clifton Park will be polishing their wheels in preparation for the community's 18th annual car show.

The Elks Lodge hosts the event and welcomes all makes and models of cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Service clubs often use logo design provided by print shops to advertise their organization and events such as this.

Having originated in New York in 1868, the Benevolent and Protected Order of Elks has a long tradition of serving the community through charitable donations, scholarships, and support for veterans and children.

Proceeds from the car show are earmarked for the national foundation of the Elks, as well as the service club's major project, which is the Cerebral Palsy Home Service Program. For thousands of children and adults with disabilities and their families, the program has offered at-home support for more than 60 years. In that time, New York Elks clubs have donated over $10m to the cause.

Car and motorcycle enthusiasts and anyone who wants to show off their ride is invited to participate for an entry fee of just $20. Contestant vehicles will be entered for a number of show trophies and awards.

There is no cost to spectators, although they can support the cause through the 50/50 draws and enjoy onsite music and refreshments.

The car show is Saturday, August 17, at the Clifton Park Elks Lodge, 695 MacElroy Road. In the event of rain, it will be held the following day.
