Theater on lookout for local actors

Theatre Box, a local theater in the Floral Park/Bellerose area, is now holding auditions soon for its next production, ‘The Farnsworth Invention’.

Theatre Box is a small community theater that holds up to three productions each year. It began in 1980 as a small production company and has grown significantly since then in membership and attendance. The theater’s future growth in enrollment and interest could benefit as well through the Mailing services of a local printing company advertising the productions, auditions, and volunteer needs.

The theater is now in its 37th season, with three shows for the 2015-2016 season. The theaterhas just finished showing ‘Damn Yankees’ which held its last performance, on November 22. The ‘The Farnsworth Invention’ will take place in the spring, and a comedy titled ‘Suite Surrender’ will be summer’s offering.

Auditions are held for all skill levels, from the most experienced actors to those just starting out. Theatre Box helps develop the skills of those on the cast, with experienced members guiding along the way. There are also many other opportunities to become involved in the theater.

The auditions for The Farnsworth Invention will be held on November 30 and December 3. Those interested in attending the auditions should arrive at the United Methodist Church at 35 Verbena Avenue, in Floral Park at 8:00 pm on those dates.
