What's Happening in Bellerose, NY…

Just outside Bellerose, the Queens Country Farm Museum, which occupies the largest area of undisturbed farmland in New York City, is offering locals an escape from the city with historic buildings dating back to 1697, and a variety of fall and holiday events for the entire family.

The farm is located on 47 acres in which visitors will be able to enjoy a tour of historic building, as well as a greenhouse complex. Those visiting will also have the opportunity to interact with livestock and view the many planting fields, orchards, and herb gardens. Perhaps a postcard printing company’s dream, this location is an agricultural area in an otherwise busy and hectic city surrounding.

Among the fall events on hand are Wildlife Weekends, where locals can learn about the farm animals, attend the Birds-of-Prey Show and enjoy hayrides and pony rides.

Holiday events include a Wreath Making Workshop, where all guests need to bring is garden shears, as all other materials are provided. Popular varieties of trees are available during the Christmas Tree Sales event, with all proceeds from the sale benefiting the Farm Museum.

Lastly, the post-Christmas Holiday Open House will be where tours of the decorated Adriance Farmhouse are conducted. The open house will also have children’s’ activities and attendees will be able to enjoy a warm cup of freshly mulled cider.
