The Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development, along with Nassau County, has granted $50,000 in funding for housing rehabilitation to residents of Bellerose Village.
The Nassau County of Housing and Intergovernmental Affairs works with municipal consortium members in providing a rehabilitation program. It is customized to assist Bellerose participants meeting the income eligibility requirements.
Participation requirements review the number of occupants within the household and the total income brought into the household. Weatherization projects take priority within the program. Assisting disabled residents is also a top initiative so that eligible individuals can remain in their homes within their neighborhoods.
Home standards and project classifications, such as heating, insulation, and siding, are evaluated per case. The implementation of a five-year interest free recapture note applied to the home is encouraged.
Flyer printing is often part of the communication materials created to advise of community projects. A local Print company will frequently work with the agency or client in creating Flyers with pertinent information.
Interested residents should contact the Village Hall. Approaches should be made in writing and will be referred to Nassau County. An application with instructions will be sent to the homeowner.
