Farm schedules date for summer showdown

Queens County Farm Museum, located near Bellerose, will host the 37th Annual Thunderbird American Indian Mid-Summer Pow Wow this summer.

The three days of Native American intertribal festivities comprise the oldest Pow Wow in New York. A number of nations participate in the authentic festival, which takes place on the farm grounds in the orchard.

Vendors will exhibit and sell Native American jewelry, crafts, and art. Cuisine specialties will be available allowing attendees the opportunity to sample authentic food from the tribes.

Banner printing is a frequent project for local Print companies for festivals and outdoor events. Banners are used throughout the venue to direct attendees to specific areas, and help to make parking convenient when used as signage in the designated lots.

The Queens County Farm Museum sits on the largest tract of unused farmland in New York. Dating more than three centuries, historical buildings on display include a greenhouse complex, farm structures, and antique vehicles. Animals are found throughout the farm as well.

The event will take place over the weekend of July 24 to 26, with the gates opening at 6:00 pm on Friday and 10:00 am on Saturday and Sunday.

Admission is $10 for adults or $15 for the adult weekend pass, $5 for children under the age of 12, or $7 for the weekend pass. Admission is free with Farm Membership.
