Bellerose toddlers welcome to join local gardening fun

A Bellerose area program that introduces toddlers to the natural world around them will be kicking off this spring, and it is a production of the team at Queens Gardens.

The Spring Garden Buds series, which is for two- and three-year-olds, will introduce youngsters to some of the basics of gardening. Each session will include hands-on fun, and while it will take place outside, masks are required.

The activities, which will run rain or shine, will give the kids a chance to practice their new gardening skills, and they will also make a craft to take home with them. They will have a chance to harvest some of what they plant, and while they work, they will learn about the natural world. There are six sessions on the agenda running from the end of April until mid-June. The average class size will be 15 registrants.

Kids often enjoy working in the garden, and classes give them a chance to learn some of the skills that will help them find success. Printed learning materials for outdoor activities can be obtained by contacting local Stationery printers.

The registration fee or the Queens Botanical Garden’s “Garden Buds” series has been set at $180.00 each, and the first instalment is scheduled for April 29. The location for the function will be 43-50 Main Street in Flushing.
