Bellerose residents can enjoy a short trip down to the annual Long Beach Farmers Market, hosted by the Long Island Greenmarket, starting this summer. This annual event takes place twice a week throughout the summer months, extending well into the fall.
Entertainment includes workshops on basic seed planting techniques for the plant enthusiasts or cooking classes for the entire family. Food demos take place both Wednesday and Saturday. Additionally, for the children, there are art workshops on select days.
This local market is a place to discover local businesses. The market features local vendors showcasing certified organic vegetables and herbs, fresh fruits and juices, and freshly baked goods. Additionally, specialty items such as homemade beer, pasta, smoked pork, and preserves can be found at this attraction. Local art vendors will also be selling artisan soaps and other household items. Attendees can take home some Business Cards or a flyer or two to share a newfound local business with their friends and family.
The LI Greenmarket prides itself on bringing local businesses to the local community, and for added convenience, the organizers accept cash, credit, and some Forms of Checks.
