An outing that will introduce kids to the world of herbs will be on offer near Bellerose in January, and this kid-centered experience promises to be both fun and educational.
The team at Queens Botanical Garden is offering a program series throughout the winter months, and one of the sessions planned will investigate herbs, including how they are grown and used. Everyone will be asked to observe social distancing protocols, and masks are mandatory.
Intended for kids ages 4 to 12, the children who participate will discover the various scents and flavors herbs create, and they will find out how they are used in products such as cosmetics and toiletries, as well as many cuisines. It will offer an introduction to plant parts and how they function, and a visit to the site’s herb garden will take place as well.
