Bellerose introduces veterinary field to kids

When people think of pets, our furry friends often come to mind, but a Bellerose area workshop for kids will introduce another side to the story.

Invertebrates and other “creepy crawlies” will be the stars of the show for the Vet Tech 101 activity that will take place in April. It's scheduled for the Alley Pond Environmental Center, and will include some hands-on investigations for kids to get stuck into.

The attendees, who will be between the ages of 9 to 12, will learn how to care for these companion animals. They will investigate the “bugs” that call the venue home, and tools will be provided so they can observe them and learn more about how to care for them. They will find out how to keep and raise them, as this is an important part of caring for the exotic animals that are housed at the Center. Tickets are priced at $34.00 each.

Kids who are interested in animals may really enjoy the chance to be part of a hands-on session related to pet care. These activities also provide them with an opportunity to learn more about a career in the animal care field. Handouts, promotional Pens, and other materials for a function will typically be on offer at a local Print shop.

Alley Pond Environmental Center will be offering this workshop on April 24th. It will kick off at 10:00 am.
