The 37th Annual Queens County Fair will take place this month.
The event will have tractor pulls, midway games, carnival, and hay rides. There will be corn husking and pie eating contests. The Con Edison Ecology booth will be offering tips on recycling, and the Bavarian Beer garden will have traditional dancing and live music.
Agricultural blue ribbon competitions will be going on in arts and crafts, livestock, poultry, floral arranging, vegetables, and produce. Winners of competitions such as these often have pictures taken of themselves with their winning entries. These pictures can then be taken to local Stationery printers and made into family Calendars and personal notecards.
The three-acre Amazing Maise Maze will open for the season. After a stalk talk to get guests acclimated to the challenge, Bellerose guests will get the opportunity to enter the interactive maze solve puzzles, find clues, and eventually find their way out. Hours will be 11:00 am until 4:30 pm.
General admission for adults will be $10 and $5 for children from ages 3 to 12. Additional fees will apply for the pony rides, petting zoo, midway games, carnival rides, food, and the Maze.
The 37th Annual Queens County Fair will be at Queens County Farm Museum, 73-50 Little Neck Parkway, Floral Park from September 21 to 22 and will be open daily from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm.
