County fairs have long given communities a chance to celebrate the end of the harvest season, and one of these activities is set to welcome visitors from Bellerose and other local areas.
The annual Queens County Fair will be celebrating the agricultural history of the area, dating back at least 325 years. Taking place over three days, it will have a historical flavor, and many of the activities on the agenda for the festivities will be ones that would have been enjoyed in the past.
The festival will include multiple ways for the community to get involved. Everyone can try their hand at the corn husking and pie eating contest, as well as the more modern offerings such as the midway rides and carnival games. An assortment of family-friendly entertainers will take to the stage, and the Con Edison Energy Booth will be handing out Promotional Products and offering tips for recycling and other practices that show some love to Mother Nature.
Along with all of the other activities, everyone in attendance can view the produce, arts, crafts and baked goods vying for a blue ribbon. Food can be purchased on site.
This salute to the Bellerose area's agricultural past, present, and future will run from September 9 until 11. It will be set up at 73-50 Little Neck Parkway in Floral Park.
