The 19th annual Jamaica Arts and Music Summer Festival (JAMS) is taking place this August for two days, presented by Cultural Collaborative Jamaica.
The festival will kick off with a Friday night JAMS Under the Stars concert, which will be held at Rufus King Park from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Several indie music groups will be paying tribute to musical genres like R&B, soul, and jazz. This is a free event.
On the next day, the festival will take over 10 blocks of Jamaica Avenue from Parsons Blvd to 170th Street from 11:00 am - 7:00 pm. There are set to be over 500 vendors participating in this year's festival, who will be selling handmade items like jewelry, clothing, and other unique products. There will also be food trucks, a health expo, and a seniors’ pavilion.
The children can try out some of the activities and games in the Kids Safe play area. In addition, there will be cultural displays and performances.
No doubt this will attract visitors from all over Queens, including the Bellerose district. Local printing companies often provide advertising materials like Flyers to let the community know about such upcoming events.
