An event highlighting the culture and fun of Hawaii will be coming to Reno in late August.
The Reno Aloha Festival is an opportunity for attendees to experience a laid-back atmosphere, along with performances and displays of tradition. Dancing, music, crafts, food, drinks, and more will be available for guests to try. In the past, workshops teaching practices such as the Hawaiian method of tattooing, hula dancing, ukulele playing, and the Samoan art of fire knife dancing have been a part of the festivities. While the entertainment this year is not yet listed, speakers, singers, dancers, and more have taken part in previous years.
Kids have a special part of the event set aside for them, known as Keiki Village. This has activities such as storytelling, candy lei crafting, coloring pages, and other crafts and educational projects. Flyer printing will often be used to promote festivals like this one.
Vendors will be on site to provide wares such as food, snacks, beverages, hand-crafted items, and more. To apply for a spot at this year’s event, interested parties can go to the festival webpage. Fees will vary based on the type of items being sold, the size of the booth setup, and whether it is a corner slot.
Entry to the festival is free. No alcohol will be permitted in order to ensure the event remains safe and friendly to families. Security will also be posted throughout. The location of the event is set to be Wingfield Park. The day will run from 10:00am to 7:00pm on August 20th.
