Reno event celebrates holidays with spin on popular tunes

A mid-December event is giving Reno residents a fun and festive way to celebrate the season with a unique soundtrack.

The Magic, Moonlight & Mistletoe Tour is a show with a little more focus on the holiday tunes that Postmodern Jukebox (PMJ) has performed over the years, and is an activity to share with family and friends as a nod to the approaching holidays.

Among the holiday music PMJ has covered are songs such as “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” “I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas,” “Joy To The World,” and “The First Noel.”

Tickets for the Reno show, taking place at Silver Legacy Casino, are sold through Ticketmaster. The prices at the time of writing range between $45.99 and $185.41.

Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox is a music group that covers well-known tracks, but in a style completely different to the original recording. This has led to many of their covers going viral. PMJ drops new songs throughout the year. The group also works with special guest singers, some of which have included Puddles Pity Party, Haley Reinhart, Robyn Adele Anderson, and Wayne Brady.

Many acts hosting concerts will get a company specializing in graphic design to create unique designs for merchandise to sell on tour.

The show will start at 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 11.
