Reno’s kittens and their owners will be heading to “school” this summer for an activity at a local venue.
The Kitty Lounge at SPCA of Northern Nevada’s Thrift Store will welcome kittens and their pet parents for a six-week course that mirrors “puppy kindergarten.” Young cats and humans are encouraged to attend together, and there is enough space to accommodate up to seven kitten families.
The six sessions each last an hour and will give the kittens a chance to socialize and grow into well-adjusted confident cats. There will be plenty of play and handing, and the focus will be on building trust and learning how to communicate, with the humans being taught how to read their cat’s cues.
While it is being offered free of charge, donations will be appreciated, and the suggested amount is $25. Each registered family may bring up to three kittens, and it may be an especially good fit for those who have just adopted one.
Workshops and other learning sessions may benefit from the services available at local Stationery printers. They can supply Copies of handouts, as well as custom-designed certificates of completion and other documents.
The SPCA of Northern Nevada will be kicking off its very first “Kitten Kindergarten” starting next Thursday, July 2. The sessions are scheduled once each week until August 6, and each will begin at 5:30 pm.
