Reno to host healthcare event
The Nevada Cancer Coalition will be hosting the Survivorship Task Force event in Reno next week.
As the organizer of the Survivorship Task Force, the Nevada Cancer Coalition (NCC) regularly conducts research on cancer detection and treatment to improve the quality of care, and to continue developing more effective treatments.
This event is designed for individuals working in various sectors of the healthcare industry, and allows them to discuss ideas on increasing the quality of care for patients, and the rate of survivorship.
This Reno program’s objectives are to develop more programs centering on survivorship care throughout Nevada, find solutions to providing palliative and survivorship care to more patients in the state, meet the 2016 to 2020 priorities set by the Nevada Comprehensive Cancer Plan, develop more educational programs on survivorship and palliative care for students studying at medical and nursing schools, and present opportunities for continued education on the topic suited for established professionals such as oncologists, nurses, and doctors. The hosts of similar detailed programs often go to local print shops while organizing the event in order to produce relevant printed materials for all attendees.
The Survivorship Task Force is set to take place at 3:00 pm on Thursday, March 1 at the Nevada Cancer Coalition center. Anyone who wishes to register for the event must call the Cancer Survivorship Programs Manager, Amy Thompson, at (775) 451-1670 ext. 106.
