Reno stage hosts popular historical show
A theater in Reno will host a wildly popular musical with a historical yet modern theme for a small run of performances in early January.
Six the Musical started in the UK with writers Lucy Moss and Toby Marlow. The show tells the story of the six women who were at one point married to King Henry VIII. The women come together and take center stage, telling their side and reclaiming who they are, without their mutual spouse looming over them.
The ladies faced a few fates at his hand, with the rhyme “divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived” used to remember what happened to the six wives in order. The soundtrack has topped charts, with the show overall winning 23 total awards. These include Best Musical from the Outer Critics Circle and Best Original Score (Music and Lyrics) from the Tonys.
Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts will open its doors for the performances, and the venue is selling the tickets on its website. The weekend dates have two shows, while the others have one evening show. Tickets have a range in cost of $40 to $128 depending on how far from the stage the seat is. Many times, a musical offers merchandise with its logo design on it to the audiences, whether touring or staying in one venue.
The showtimes and dates are January 2 (7:30pm), 3 (7:30pm), 4 (7:30pm), 5 (8:00pm), 6 (2:00pm and 8:00pm), and 7 (1:00pm and 7:00pm).
