Reno program to transform trees into mulch
Once the holidays have come and gone for another year, many Reno residents find themselves facing the question of how to dispose of their live tree. The KTMB Christmas Tree Recycling program may have the solution, and it is being offered to the public for just $3.
There will be several collection points set up in and around Reno, and they will be open for business starting on Boxing Day. This can help to prevent the public disposing of their tree in a landfill or simply dumping it, making it a choice that is both eco-friendly and easy to do.
The trees that are donated will be chipped and mulched, and this will be utilized in various projects around the community. Only natural evergreens will be accepted, and people are asked to make sure all decorations, wires, hangers, and stands are removed.
Anyone who would like to get involved with this public service project is welcome to do so, as it depends upon the efforts of volunteers. Stationery printers can supply waivers and other types of business forms that can be used by a not-for-profit organization to arrange this sort of event.
This tree recycling campaign will run from December 26 until January 7. Additional information, including the addresses of the collection points, can be found on the New to Reno website.
