Lively bands to entertain in Albuquerque
Toronto-based instrumental quartet The Surfrajettes will be playing in Albuquerque in the new year, together with the Tailspins.
Since forming in 2015, The Surfrajettes have impressed crowds with their blend of psychedelic rock and surf music, as well as their go-go boots and thick eyeliner.
The album "Party Line / Toxic" was released on Hi-Tide Recordings in 2018 to great fanfare. The band traveled extensively to promote the album and made appearances on The Beach Boys Cruise and The Melissa Etheridge Cruise, among other places. Information about bands and their events can be shared using flyer printing.
The Surfrajettes are Nicole Damof and Shermy Freeman on guitars, Sarah Butler on bass, and Samantha Maloney on drums. When they are not on tour, the band can be found woodshedding at their private beach cottage, where they say they make new miniskirts and dream about appearing in a Quentin Tarantino film.
The debut EP by The Tailspins is a blend of blues, jazz, swing, and rock that takes listeners to the golden ages of American music. They draw inspiration from classics such as Cab Calloway, producing a vivid aural experience.
The two bands will be performing at The Sister in Albuquerque on February 18, with doors opening at 7:00 pm. General admission tickets are on sale for $20 from ticket vending sites like Eventbrite.
