Albuquerque hosts folk festival

The Albuquerque Folk Festival will once again fill the halls of the National Hispanic Cultural Center with music this September.

Music lovers of all ages are invited to the event, which is full of amenities, including a free instrument check area, a bike valet and a consignment booth. While there are plenty of performances on stages, there are also a ton of other activities in between, such as a musical instrument petting zoo, an activity tent for kids, a merch booth, food vendors, arts and crafts and a dance workshop.

People solely focused on the music-centered activities will also have plenty to do, as there will be music workshops, several venues for musicians to informally perform in jam sessions, with five venues for the main rehearsed performances. In total, there will be about 100 events to choose from.

The event is run on a volunteer, not-for-profit basis for educational purposes.

Music festivals like this may choose to use stationery printers for making set lists, printing signs and creating stage decoration.

The Albuquerque Folk Festival is happening on September 28 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the National Hispanic Cultural Center at 1701 Fourth St. SW in Albuquerque. Tickets, which can be purchased online, range in price from $20-$50. Children 12 and under and seniors 85 or older are free.
