Globe-trotting punk band plays in Albuquerque

Albuquerque’s Revel concert venue is getting a dose of punk rock when Prince Daddy and The Hyena perform, with supporting acts that include Walter Etc. and Combat, this November.

The Albany, New York-based Prince Daddy and The Hyena formed back in 2014 with founding members Zakariya Houacine, Alex Ziembiec and Kory Gregory. The trio saw a concert by Rozwell Kid, heavily influencing Gregory’s songwriting.

In 2015, the band released an EP called Adult Summer, followed by their debut album in 2016, I Thought You Didn’t Even Like Leaving, refining their emo-infused punk sound.

The band’s 2019 sophomore effort, the album Cosmic Thrill Seekers, arguably catapulted Prince Daddy and The Hyena to new heights, as they toured extensively later that year, including headlining a tour in Europe with Oso Oso.

With a new bleached-hair look and more experience than ever, Gregory and his bandmates continued working with Oso Oso in 2020, once again co-headlining a tour together featuring supporting act Just Friends.
